This course is designed for employees working in California. In approximately one hour you will learn your key rights under California wage and hour law — what you are entitled to, what your employer is required to provide, and what to do if your rights are not being respected.
What you will learn:
- Where your California wage and hour rights come from and why they are among the strongest in the country
- What counts as time you must be paid for, including before and after your scheduled shift
- Your meal and rest break entitlements and what you are owed when breaks are missed
- How to read your pay stub, your expense reimbursement rights, and your paid sick leave entitlements
- Your right to immediate final pay when employment ends and how to enforce all of your wage and hour rights
